What is 5 A Day?

5 A Day is a campaign based on advice from the World Health Organization to encourage people to eat a combination of at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day. This came about after scientific research proved that eating fruit and vegetables reduced the risk of certain cancers, stroke, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity.
