Why Bother Organising Your kitchen?

As you know my mission is to help you be able to walk into your kitchen and whip up a tasty meal from scratch in 20 minutes.

In order for this to work, you need to have your kitchen well organised. A great kitchen setup can save you time, energy and stress. It can mean the difference between spending 20 minutes to prepare a simple meal and spending over an hour on the same meal.

 Once your kitchen is organised:

  • Putting together a healthy meal is a breeze because
    • you can see at a glance exactly what you’ve got to work with
    • everything is within easy reach, no more having to go back and forth
    • you have core ingredients available at all times allowing you to make a huge repertoire of dishes at all times
  • Food lasts longer when stored correctly and you don’t waste food that is hidden away and only found once its limp and stale
  • You can access things easily without scrambling around looking for them making cooking a lot more fun
  • Meal planning is easier because you can quickly see what you have available
  • Shopping is straightforward, as is putting away groceries.
  • Even unloading the dishwasher is quicker as there’s a tidy, neat place to put everything.
  • And just looking into the pantry makes you feel calm and nourished rather than stressed out and chaotic.

It’s not just about having fancy storage containers to put everything in, though those can help. It’s about knowing what’s important and what’s not and really maximize the way you utilize the space you do have.
